Christmas Eve Eve

Christmas has come so fast again this year! Hard to believe there is NO snow for Santa. Keegan is bummed there is no snow, but she is so excited for Christmas. She has been a good girl this year and I am sure Santa will bring her everything on her list. It is hard to believe she is 7 years old this year. I remember our first Christmas with her...she was 9 days old and slept right through it! Time sure does go by fast. Tomorrow we are off to Annette's for our family Christmas. Let the business of the next 2 days beging. Merry Christmas to all!

Change

Over the past few years my dad and I have not been as close as we once were. I have grown up, gotten married, and started my own family. Therefore I don't "need" my dad the same as I once did. But I do still "need" my dad. I need him to be part of my daughter's life. I need him to be part of my life. I need him to still love me and call me his little girl.

Last Saturday night, I got a very awakening call from my mom. My mom was in the ambulance with my dad, on the way to the hospital, he was having a heart attack.

My heart dropped. I put on my shoes. Chad had his dad come sit with Keegan, she was sleeping. It was late at night. We proceeded to the hospital. I didn't have much to say. I called my sisters. We were in shock.

They took my dad to surgery at midnight, to put in a stent. 3 1/2 hours later the docter came out. They put in 3 stents. My dad had a major heart attact. It was very serious. At that point was when the emotions finally hit me. I could have lost my dad.

My dad is okay now. He has to have more stents and watch his diet. He also has an aortic aneurysm that they will continue to watch. He has to make a major lifestyle change.

My dad is only 64. I am not ready to say goodbye to him.

Only God knows when our time is up. I realize we must make the most of each day that we have. I am looking at things in another light now. Sometimes it takes a very scary situation to remember how much the ones closest to us mean, and at any moment they could be gone.

I love you dad.

Missing Pictures

In October I did not do a very good job of posting pics. So here is a quick little recap of what we did in the month of October.
We did the Halloween campout at Sugarloaf. It was the second year in a row of awesome weather. Our family and neighbors came out to celebrate with us. The kids had a blast trick-or-treating from campsite to campsite!

We also celebrated our friends Kia and Russ's wedding. The bride and groom were stunning and we had a blast. I love going to weddings!

The night before Halloween we carved pumpkins with my family. Our pumpkins turned out amazing and we had fun doing it. We got Keegan and Sylar all dressed up and got some pictues of them. Keegan was a hippie and Sylar a dinosaur.

We took some time the day we got together to do pumpkins and went over to our Great Aunt Virginia's to visit her. The kids were dressed up and she loved seeing them. She is only in town for a couple weeks in the Fall and Spring. She is a traveling woman, and she is 88 years old!

Alone Time

I came home from work to an empty house! Chad took Keegan to her art class. I worked out, picked up a bit, and did some laundry. Now I am just sitting here enjoying the quietness. I do feel a bit lost, I am never alone! However this little bit of alone time feels kinda good.

First Tooth

Today when I picked Keegan up from cheerleading she informed me that she lost her first tooth! She has had a wiggly tooth for a couple of weeks and wanted to lose it so bad. She was hoping she would lose it at school so she would get a tooth box! She was so happy! I am a little sad though. Keegan is getting so big, so fast.
Well, when she went to bed she placed her tooth under her pillow. She is so excited for the tooth fairy to come!
It is these small things like losing a tooth that are such huge milestones!
My baby is growing up so fast. It makes me realize how fast time really does go by. It seems like just the other day she was getting her first tooth, now she us losing her first tooth.
Looks like that tooth fairy will be visiting tonight!

Busy!

Our weekend was busy, busy, busy! On Saturday evening we took Keegan to the Tigers game. It was lots of fun even though the Tigers did not win:) On Sunday Keegan and I attended a baby shower for Chad's cousin Angie. I just love baby showers!
After the shower we went to the Outback to celebrate Sharon's birthday. It was delish. Then I had to go to a funeral visitation for an old neighbor. It was really sad. I spent lots of time at their house growing up. It was really nice seeing the boys, Scott, Brian, and Rusty.
Now the start to another busy week. Cheerleading starts this week!

First Two Weeks!

Well, we have made it thru the first two weeks of first grade with no incidents to report! Yay!
With school starting, so has dance. This year Keegan is taking hip-hop, she has wanted to take it before but they never offered it to her age, until this year!
Also, she wanted to do girl scouts this year, but she had to make a choice between that or an art class. We went to the open house they had at Art 634, and she chose the art class. She has already had one class, and loved it!
Soon will be cheerleading, that is short though, they only cheer at one game.
With the start of school and change of weather we all have been so tired. Hopefully we will adjust soon. I love fall, but also know it is a sign of things to change...winter...blah!
Until next time,
XOXO

1st day of 1st grade

Today was Keegan's 1st day of 1st grade. It was a huge success. No tears! No clinging! She was even bathed, did her nails, put her hair in curlers, and was in bed by 8:40! I wonder how long this will last???
I am so proud of my 1st grader, she is so smart and brave and I wish her the BEST schoolyear this year!

School is almost here, and so is fall!

Last week, on Tuesday, August 23rd, Chad and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. It has been a wonderful 8 years, and has gone by so fast. We didn't do anything big, since we were on vacation the prior week and that was awesome!

This week, we have been preparing for the start of school, a big 1st grader this year. Luckily, Keegan has the same teach as last year since she is in a multiage class. Her teacher is fabulous.

We did school clothes shopping, got a new haircut, which is much shorter and oh so cute, and just been hanging out!

With the start of school comes fall though. I like fall, but fall means it is just getting closer to winter, which I dread! It will be nice to wear some jeans and a sweatshirt and watch football and relax for a while! The summer was way too busy!

Sleeping Bear Dunes 2011

Last week the three of us spent the week at the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Platte River Campground.
It was amazing.
The weather was perfect, and everything slid right into place.
While there we kayaked, alot, went fishing, took a ride up to Leland to check it out, hung out at Lake Michigan, and just relaxed.
There was so much to see and do and we could not fit it all in. That is what next year is for!
We will be making this an annual trip.
Here are a few highlights from our trip.

Now back to reality and time to get ready for the start of school.
I can't believe our little girl is going to be a 1st grader!

More Posts

So, I just looked up my blog and realized that is has been so long since I last posted. Therefore I am making a vow right now to post no less than once a month. There is so much going on in our lives that we can share and this is the perfect way to do it. Keegan has grown so much and is such an amazing young lady! She bring smiles to our faces each and every day. So, this is a start and there will be more to come!
XOXO,
